PENGUIN RANDOM HOUSE SECRET SANTA
Penguin Random House is an American book publisher and the largest general-interest paperback publisher in the world.
We were commissioned to create a series of short films to support Penguin Random House’s Christmas social media campaign, for use across the Penguin, Puffin and Ladybird brands.

The campaign was designed to be a showcase for PRH’s roster of talent, as well as to spread some festive cheer in the style of a Secret Santa between authors. The films enable viewers to learn more about the books, to hear author’s reasons for choosing these titles for one another, and for us to see their reactions to their gifts on film.
Featured authors included John Cleese; Sophie Kinsella, Zoe Sugg, Rick Stein, Sebastian Faulks, Caitlin Moran, Giovanna Fletcher, Malorie Blackman, Colm Tóibín, Simon Mayo, Kevin Bridges, Cathy Cassidy, Graeme Simsion, Nick Hornby and Lee Child.

Shot across multiple locations including the Cheltenham Literature Festival, we gifted each of the authors their books whilst exploring their reasons for gifting their chosen books and recording their reactions upon receiving them.
We then generated three main films designed to fit each of brands and their audiences. We also produced a series of snippets to provide teasers in the run up to the release of the main films. Editing, GFX and sound were then finalised and the edits were delivered in a nice parcel, in time for Christmas!
As the windows of advent calendars across the land started to burst open, the films had already received over 100,000 views online.
An effective social media campaign had been delivered and it’s presents noticed!
